Work
Over the last 3 years Margaret has been working specifically with young children. She has developed and implemented art programs based on the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning. She believes that creativity, and the arts in general, need to be given priority in any education system.
One of the outcomes from the increased interpretation of Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, is that the arts are now employed to develop children’s skills and understanding across a range of disciplines. In the early childhood environment we have the ability to be able to implement this on a practical level. By combining different approaches and providing a variety of materials the children can make their own artworks and follow their own investigations.
